CONFERENCE THEME: Displays and Lighting Driving LED Market Growth
We are pleased to present the fourth annual LED Japan/Strategies in Light Conference and Expo. This year’s event follows upon a great success in 2010, in which attendance exceeded 6,100 attendees and the exhibit floor was sold out.
These are truly exciting times for the high-brightness LED industry. During the past year, the HB LED market has undergone growth not seen since the earliest days of the industry in the mid-1990s. Driven by the adoption of LED backlights in notebook computers, monitors and LCD TVs, the overall market grew by 93% in 2010 to reach $10.8 billion. Average annual growth through 2015 is forecast at 11.8% per year. As the backlight market saturates over the next few years, the main driver for overall market growth will shift to the adoption of LED lighting, which is still in its early stages.
Our focus for the LED Japan/Strategies in Light Conference and Expo 2011is on the developments in HB LED applications, technology and government policies that will continue to drive the market forward over the next five years and beyond. In addition, for the second year in a row, LED Japan/ Strategies in Light will feature an LED Lighting Track, which will take place on September 30 immediately following the main conference sessions. This track will examine some of the most pressing issues regarding the use of LEDs in lighting applications.
A new feature at this year’s conference is two pre-conference workshops that will be held on Wednesday, September 28. These workshops will provide in-depth presentations from experts in their fields on two subjects that are of keen interested to LED component and system manufacturers: “Thermal Reliability for LED Lighting Design”, and “Test and Measurement of LEDs and LED Systems”.
In addition to conference programs that will address many of the important industry developments discussed above, LED Japan/Strategies in Light Conference and Expo 2011 will also feature a comprehensive exhibit area. The exhibit area will also include a variety of exhibitor presentations on September 28 and 29.
