The LED Japan/Strategies in Light Conference & Expo 2012 Conference Committee is now accepting abstracts for the conference, which will take place on September 25-27, 2012.
Abstract Deadline: April 27, 2012
2012 CONFERENCE THEME: The LED Market: Recovery and Prospects for Growth
The worldwide LED industry experienced very low growth in 2011, with uncertain prospects for growth in the next few years. This conference will examine the various factors affecting growth in different regions and different market segments. With the development of improved and lower cost LED technology, many fast growing applications have sprouted, including agriculture and entertainment. Increasing attention is being paid to supporting technology such as smart lighting to produce additional energy savings in solid-state lighting applications.
One of the brightest spots in the LED industry in 2011 was Japan's rapid adoption of LED lighting. In 2011, the value of Japanese LED replacement lamps is estimated to be worth US$979 million, based on 33.8 million units sold. The LED replacement lamp market is expected to grow even more in 2012. As the industry moves forward, the next wave will be the SSL luminaires, which will take full advantage of LED’s unique characteristics instead of trying to fit into the footprint of existing sockets. To further increase energy savings, controls and dimming will play a more important role in SSL.
We are accepting abstracts for the main 2012 conference program that will address these dramatic changes:
- Moving from bulbs and tubes to luminaires: what does it take?
o LED component technology
o Drivers
o Thermal
o Luminiare Design challenges
o Government incentives - Factors affecting growth in various market segments and regions.
- Improving technology up and down the SSL ecosystem
- Activities that help accelerate the market adoption of SSL
- Advances and examples of successful smart lighting implementation
- Use of LED technology in new applications
Target Audience includes:
- Executives from the LED Industry
- Buyers of LEDs
- Lighting designers
- Light system designers
- LED product engineers
- Technical management
- Sales, marketing, and consultant who serve LED markets
- Financial analysts, investment bankers, and venture capitalists
LED Japan/Strategies in Light Conference and Expo continues to attract a robust audience -total attendance has exceeded 5,000 for three consecutive years!
