Izumi Okayasu gradated from Nihon University as a bio-resource sciences major in 1994, and in 1995 he started his career at the Institute of Agriculture and Machinery. While working at ITL Co., Ltd from 2000-2007, he established a design office and renamed it to Izumi Okayasu Lighting Design in 2008.

Standardization for LED Lighting

This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of the standardization process and new standards for LED Lighting in the US. In particular it focuses on the standards for general lighting applications, which are developed or under development by ANSI, NEMA, IESNA, UL, IEEE and other organizations. The US government specifications for SSL such as Energy Star will be included.

Dr. Jianzhong Jiao is an internationally recognized expert for lighting products design, technology development, testing, standards and regulations. He holds multiple leadership positions in the lighting industry. He is the Chairman of SAE Lighting Committee, past Chairman of the NGLIA, past Chairman of the NEMA SSL Section Technical Committee, and an active member of IESNA, ANSI, UL, SPIE, and IEEE. Dr. Jiao is an SAE Follow, and has received several industry awards. He has 9 US Patents, over 20 technical papers, numerous public talks and magazine articles, and he teaches seminars and short courses for LED lighting.
